So, you’ve booked your boudoir session—or you’re this close to taking the leap—but one question keeps echoing in your mind:
“Wait… what do I even wear for a boudoir session?”
You are not alone. This is one of the most common questions I get, and it makes total sense. Boudoir isn’t something most people do every day! The good news? At Hope Denton Photography, I’ve taken the guesswork (and the stress) out of the equation with my carefully curated Client Wardrobe—and it’s included in your session experience.
Whether you want to go full glam, keep it cozy, or try a little of both, this post will walk you through your options, give you some personal styling tips, and help you feel fully prepped for your shoot.
Here’s one of the biggest perks of working with me:
When you book a boudoir session, you get exclusive access to my in-studio Client Wardrobe—a curated collection of flattering, photo-ready pieces available in sizes XS through 4X.
We currently have around 300+ items and counting, including:
Whether you’re drawn to classic elegance or something a little more daring, there’s something here that will make you feel amazing. (Not sure what a bustier is? Don’t worry—I’ll walk you through it.)
Everything in the wardrobe is carefully selected to fit a variety of bodies and styles. My goal? To help you look and feel like you, but elevated—without the pressure of buying a bunch of stuff you’ll never wear again.
Curious about the full process? You can explore the boudoir session experience here.
Let’s talk logistics for a sec—because your safety and comfort matter.
Every wardrobe piece is thoroughly laundered or dry cleaned after each use. For hygiene, we do ask that you bring a black and nude seamless thong to wear underneath wardrobe items. You’re also welcome to bring:
Most clients are surprised by how at ease they feel once we start styling—and I’m always there to guide you through choices that feel right for you.
If you’re wondering who’s behind all this thoughtful planning, you can learn more about me here and why this work means so much to me.
Absolutely. If you already have pieces that make you feel confident and powerful, bring them! Some clients bring a few favorite sets or outfits, and we mix them in with wardrobe options to create variety.
Here are a few things to keep in mind if you’re shopping for your session:
Fun fact: About 90% of clients who bring their own outfits still end up choosing a piece or two from the Client Wardrobe once they see how they feel on camera.
If you’re not sure what direction to take, here are a few tried-and-true looks we love:
Style Vibe | Outfit Ideas |
---|---|
Soft & Romantic | Sheer robe, lace bodysuit, blush tones |
Bold & Sexy | Strappy set, corset, fishnets, heels |
Casual & Real | Fitted tank top, boyfriend shirt, no makeup makeup |
Dark & Moody | Black mesh, bustier, smoky eyes |
Glam & Powerful | Jewel tones, dramatic earrings, red lips |
We’ll create something together that reflects your style—and your story.
Here’s the truth: there’s no one right answer. What you wear should make you feel confident, supported, and a little bit like a main character (because, hi, you are).
Whether you’re pulling pieces from my Client Wardrobe or bringing your own, we’ll find a look (or three) that tells the story of who you are right now—beautiful, complex, powerful, and worthy of being seen.
And if you’re still unsure? Let’s talk it out and create something personal together. You can schedule your free consult here—no pressure, just support.
If this post reminded you that you’re allowed to feel beautiful in your own skin, that’s no accident. That’s exactly what I’m here for.
Because what you wear matters—but how you feel in it? That’s the real magic.
